St. Vincent de Paul

Blessed Frederic Ozanam
The Society's Founder

A 20 year old college student when he founded the Society in 1833 in Paris. Ozanam & a small group of students answered the call for Catholics to "practice what they preach."
They visited the homes of the poor taking them bread & clothes while offering friendship, concern and love of Christ. Ozanam chose St. Vincent as the patron saint of the Society because the saint was regarded as the patron of all charitable works.
